Unlike GTA and CoD that aren't bringing anything new to the table. I can understand don't fix what isn't broken, but in the case of mario i think it is broken. I can tell you exactly what happens in every single mario game almost without even playing it. What i'm asking for is nintendo to actually try and come up with something new.

As far as the child/adult argument i have to say i believe that it is more of a under 15 system. Granted an adult can be entertained by the wii just like a adult can be entertained by bejeweled for some unknown reason. Where on something you find on the 360/ps3 you might have to actually use your mind not just finger dexterity to accomplish your goal.

If you want to entertain guest just buy guitar hero or something along those lines...

Forgive poor spelling/punctuation in a rush today.
see mario games aren't really supposed to be about the story though. not all games are. some games are just about core gameplay. that's always been mario's thing and that's why it has been so successful. the new mario game pushes platform gaming to an entirely new level and the sales reflect this new plateau in gaming. super mario galaxy is anything but broken. it is the game of the year for 2007, and most established gaming websites will tell you that.

i think the thing about the wii is that it has a lot of applications that you have to use your mind. hence the sales to adults and the elderly. it is the most adult console on the market. most adults are more inclined to sit down for a round of trivia or brain excercises or even bowling than they are to figure out the buttons on the latest first person shooter. most adults don't care about blood spattering and course language. they want to be stimulated by other means - the thinking.

look at brain age for the ds. it's one of the top 20 games in sales of ALL time. that's representative of an older market tapping into the gaming realm.
