Fat Shaft XBL doesn't have dedicated servers.

Microsoft doesn't make the dedicated servers. The developer of the MMORPG does, this is why FFXI has a monthly fee just like every other good MMORPG on the market.

FFXI has been out for 3 years on the 360, and some of you guys try to sound like developers are figuring out some groundbreaking way to put MMOs on the 360. It's been done already, and it's not any different than PC.

There is absolutely no reason why future MMOs shouldn't come out on consoles, there are no drawbacks at all.

Xbox 360 can't support that many players, plus WOW would be better on the pc.

Nice post DK, informing the crowd as always. Like I said, Microsoft doesn't host the servers, the developer does. The 360 has no problem at all connecting to those servers, Square Enix has been doing it for 3 years like I said before.

mouse and keyboard > controller for one thing

That's not true, on a lot of MMOs (excluding WoW) people actually buy a controller to play with. The only reason this doesn't work well with WoW is because their interface wasn't designed with the controller in mind.

He's right, and don't try to think otherwise.

theres other issues too, but thats a major one

No, there are no other issues.

The biggest reason why WoW or other PC MMORPG'S havent been on 360, is because of connectivity issues and lag. Have you played Two Worlds?.

Bassically WoW is run by dedicated servers, servers that just run the game 24hours a day, really fast, excellent connections etc etc.

The problem with 360 is that people have to setup their own servers, so not only do they Host the games, but they are playing it at the same time which = 5x more Connection usage.

You seem to think that every game has to go through Xbox Live, it doesn't. You understand how dedicated servers work, so now all you have to do is realize that it works the same way on the 360 as on the PC.

Why don't we have our own servers like the PC guys do then?

We do. Final Fantasy 11 is hosted on SE's dedicated servers and you can interact with PS2/PS3/PC players on the 360. It's not different than being on a PC. Another example of this in the future is Huxley, but it won't be fully interactive with the PC players.

They would have to make a brand new type of xbox/or xbox type machine to run dedicated servers but i bet they wont bother with that,
so the best option would be to have a PC server, and make an emulator, so that the server can run xbox 360 games.
Im very surprised they havent done this already, and im sure it isnt that hard to do, becuase you can download free emulators for Ps and PS2 so you can play PS games on PC already, including sege megadrive and Snes games etc.

You're thinking too hard. I'll say it again, they do it the same way the PC developers do it.
how was mine bad info? XBL doesn't have dedicated servers, you basically proved my point
