Way to have an opinion Holesome...
You still have your Odyssey hooked up {lol} I have no idea where mine is. me and my friends had the talking adapter and spent countless hours making it curse...Oh the good times.

I read your whole post, respect and understand your opinion. My view point on the subject {being the expert I am having my Wii for a couple of weeks} is get a 360 first...But the Wii is a good fun piece of equipment. I would put RE4 Wii edition up against anything on the 360. I'm not saying its better but it rightfully deserves to stand next to those games. I'm sure Metroid is going to be the same level of greatness when I get to it.

You're also 100% right on social networking games...I usually buy a bunch of games that my friends don't play anyway, but I do buy some games that I normally wouldn't play just to play with them.
Since I bought my Wii I've been trying to free my self from the chains of Achievement points so I can get back to enjoying games for the sake of it again.

Right now I'm looking into getting Gamecube games that I missed out on for one reason or another {like the Resident evil collection, Mega Man X collection, and Sonic Adventure 1 & 2}. What the Wii has that the Xbox doesn't have well is it's Backwards compatibility, there is a nice catalogue of GC games that are pretty good {and ridiculously cheep}; I can play all the Prince of Persia games if I so choose. Right now I'm playing through Killer7 and enjoying it a lot.

I don't really have a point to my post except that I am feeling good about my Wii purchase {I've had some good 3-player Red Steel matches}, and to anybody that would like to broaden there game playing experience check out a Wii, it's not all Mario and Zelda.
