I always thought it'd be fun to be a fan of some team that's perennially awful and has little chance of making the playoffs most years. Like the Tampa Bay Devil Rays or something. That way you kind of expect failure and success is that much sweeter. I know when the Yankees won the series in 1996 after 18 years without a win it was pretty sweet. Since then watching them play hasn't been the same because I've come to expect success. I'd rather root for the underdog. It's more fun that way.
