All the great Beat 'em up games got bastardized.

Mortal Combat - Fucked when it went 3d.
Street Fighter - Fucked when the added the Xmen characters.
Tekken - Still a great game, but the PAL versions were slowed down. I had a Japanese copy of 3 on my old PS1, and it ran 5x faster (character response) than the PAL version.
Virtual Fighter - Does it even exist any more?
DOA - Always a shit game. Full stop.
WWE Games - Sluggish controls, same with Fight Night for that matter.

Soul Blade/Calibur and Tekken 5 (Availabe on PSN) are the only good Beat 'em ups on the market ATM.

Oh, and the old games (MK3, Street Fighter 2) etc on XBL too.

As Lethal said, everyone's attention has gone to 16+ Player FPS. The era of the Beat 'em up is over.

What I want is Killer Instinct from the SNES remade exactly how it was with HD graphics. That's it. Same 2D, same characters, same everything except updated GFX.
