That is a fucking lie!
Me and My friends rock out to rockband every week and we all have "our" instrument. I bought the game and alot of dlc and I never even play the drums I have played them like twice. I'm the guitarist and I love this game. But if you were to say you need the drums to have a good time with this game I would agree I don't really find this game fun without the whole band there. But one things for sure when those drums finally break which I'm sure they will I'm not the one who is gonna be buying the replacement set.
