I have 2 xbox 360's in the house. 1 is connected via a wireless connection and the other is hard wired to the router. The wireless 1 has an open NAT while the hard wired has a strict NAT. This may have always been the case but because of yesterday I have only just noticed it. Rebooting the router just switched the NAT settings over from 1 xbox to the other. I am only able to get 1 with an open NAT but finally after hours of trying I can get both to play GOW online. So was my problem just a glitch due to yesterday's maintainence? So that brings me back to my original question, what does having a strict NAT do?
Good thing to come out of this is that after ringing xbox, sky and netgear to fix problem sky are sending me a new router.

Having a strict NAT makes it harder for you to connect with other players while on Xbox live. So it will be harder for you to find games, connect to games, and it can also prevent other players from hearing you or prevent you from hearing them.
