The fps games I prefer usually have more to think about than just shooting. ie cod4 you balance sprinting/aiming down your sights and a few other factors i.e.if you sprint you move faster but if you run into someone chances are they will kill you, aiming down the sights is more accurate but you move your crosshair slower and you only walk. Counterstrike you have to pause to be accurate, which then of course makes you more vulnarable.
Games like Halo remind me of the quake 3 era of fps gaming, which i loved at the time I just feel as if I have moved on. Not to say there isn't alot to think about in Halo, but the consequences I feel are less if you mess up, ie if someone shoots you in the back you often have time to get to cover or turn around and shoot back while in cod4 and CS you don't have a chance

This is true. I hear lots of "realistic" shooter players getting frustrated at this one.
