I'm considering buying a new printer soon, and seeing as there are 3 computers in the house I think it's best to buy one with an ethernet port, and network it.

I've never done this before, but I assume it's quite simple. If I connect the printer to my DG834 (to which the 3 aforementioned PCs are also connected), should I then be able to configure the printer one each PC via Control Panel-assuming network discovery is enabled?

One thing I'm not sure about is IP addresses; do I need to assign the printer a static IP? If so, how would I go about doing this?

Thanks
