digital optical cable output on monster cable plug?!

I recently purchased the Monster Cable plug (Monster Cable -- GameLink 360 VGA A/V Cable) to hook up to my projector. I also want to be able to hook it up to my 5.1 surround sound. As of right now it only uses the red and white plug which doesnt produce 5.1. I did some searching and realized i need a digital optical cable. My amp has an output for it but im not sure that the Monster Cable plug does. I looked on the back and it's some circular hole instead of the squarish hole that the original 360 cable (with the rgb hook ups) came with.

any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
