MGS4 nets first perfect score

PS3 News: OPM UK: MGS4 Nets First Perfect 10

Quote:
The launch of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is exactly one month away, but the first review of this giant title has already surfaced on the Internet.

We had heard that the first review would show up in this month's edition of the Official PlayStation Magazine, and that is indeed the case. If you head on over to GamesRadar, you'll find the cover of OPM UK, and it's clear the MGS4 review is featured. They also talk to the Paul Fitzpatrick - he wrote the review - and they learn a few very interesting pieces of information, including the fact that it took him just under 30 hours to complete his adventure. Not surprisingly, he ended up awarding the perfect 10 score, citing only a Lord of the Rings: Return of the King syndrome (the ending just wouldn't end) and a small issue with the auto-aim as flaws. Fitzpatrick also said-

"For me, like the greatest films, it's outstanding because of, and not despite, its idiosyncrasies and flaws. It's the expression of one very creative person's vision and to see that undiluted with all it's eccentricities and genius intact is remarkable. It's also a cracking story and truly rewarding to play."

Yep, sounds good to us. We can't wait to dive into this one, and we're counting the days. Stay tuned for our review upon the game's launch, which is guaranteed to be both accurate and epic.
