I will admit that although the jets in SA were fun to drive, you couldn't do a whole lot with them in term of ground damage..although dogfights were always fun. But when you look at it in terms of reality, a person can't just hop in a plane and fly it...that and with the G-forces you pull off in a fighter jet, w/o a G-suit you could get K/O in some cases. Also, I don't think there are really any military bases in NYC (correct me if I'm wrong, haven't exactly been there yet)
Although it is the same for a heli...IMO the heli appears a bit easier to actually fly...as well, Niko's military background could give reason why he is able to fly a chopper, but you could say the same w/ planes as well...although I think they would've said if Niko was actually a fighter pilot or not...although that type of character wouldn't exactly fit into the GTA story. All IMO btw
