Was that in response to Razwaz's post? He said M60A4, the last LMG. You're thinking of the M40A3, the first sniper rifle.
Or if you were talking about the ACOG scope, it actually increases the effective range of Steady Aim by shrinking the COF by 35%. Stick one on an SMG and you will get hip-fire kills easily at much farther ranges.
I personally haven't gotten good with the ACOG on the M60. I like the red dot since I rarely spray with the LMGs. I just can't get used to the sway on the ACOG when trying to make the long range shots. I can only use it well with steady aim or sniper rifles.
