I've figured it out now so I'll post it here for future reference.
The
RANKED Leaderboard is a pretty simple concept. Basically it takes the highest score you've ever got in an entire ranked match. Doesn't matter how you got those points, doesn't matter how many times you died, doesn't matter how many opponents you have. It registers the amount of points you have after the end of a ranked match.
The
STATS Leaderboard is exactly the same, but only registers scores from Player Matches. So, if I managed to score 300 points in a player match (it doesn't matter how many rounds there are), then 300 will be the amount shown on the Stats Leaderboard (unless you've scored higher).
