In other news, I'm trying to scratch up the funds to buy a bunch of parts and attempt to build my own DAC with no schematics besides what I get from the documentation I've seen from Texas Instruments. It looks like it'll be about $120 worth the parts . . . gah, I need to find another job soon.
The analog circuitry looks to be no harder than a basic headphone amp, the rest also looks rather straightforward. I guess the hardest part for me will be the power circuit when I get to it. Knowing my luck it won't happen till college, I could just see me at a desk with a soldering iron and the nerdy magnifying glasses. Sadly, I see that as a very calming thing and well within my character these days >_>'
Anyway, the parts I'm looking for not including capacitor/resistors or parts pertaining to that other than circuitry are:
Burr Brown PCM1704 "DAC" (x2)
Burr Brown DF1704 Digital Filter
NDK 80MHz Oscillator
Burr Brown OPA(mp)2134
