Another part of BioShock is finding basically everything you need to survive…all the time. You find out very quickly that both ammo and EVE run out very quickly from battling all of the splicers that turn up as well as the big daddy fights. However 2k has made it very easy yet intriguing to find these necessities of the game. Searching through desks, empty crates, or even just the floor will find you lots of goodies. Ammo is the hardest to come by though and is best bought at a vending machine, usually after a quick hack to lower the price a bit. With a nice tonic upgrade and a quick pull of the Right Trigger you can search again and sometimes get lucky, finding things that help you on completing the goal at hand.
However there are some negatives to this game. Although at first the range of enemies you face seems vast, once you get down the (I think 5) different types of splicers, and the Big Daddy’s. You’ll only come face to face with a couple of humans less than a handful of times during the game. Also you’ll find yourself using the same combination of plasmid and weapon use, usually something like, using a winter freeze plasmid to freeze a couple of enemies in place then go at them with your wrench or machine gun, even though at harder levels this is even hard as they don’t tend to shatter as easily, you’ll find yourself getting a bit tired of the same old fighting scheme. And yes there are many, many different types of tonics and plasmids to use, but only a handful of them are actually effective, the others are ones you may be grateful of 2k for throwing in your second play through but when you just want to complete the game, without dying a whole lot of times, they aren’t too great.
