Dead Rising
What is it?
This game is where you are a photo journalist and you are in a helicopter that got dropped off at a mall in a town that was blockaded. Soon the Journalist was to find out that there were zombies everywhere in the vacinity of the building and town.
In the game you can, get any type of weapon you please, and dress any way you please. The game goes on for 3 (GAME) days. But depending on what ending you get you will have more to do.
Most people who have played this game think that it is just a run around slash and hack type of game but it really isn't. It has a story line which most tend to forget. Get a bunch of different endings, and can go on for more days.
Pros
Ok so in this game, you can pick up anything you want in the mall well almost anything there’s plenty of stores to go to and wear anything you want. Dead Rising is one of the better games with true replay value. You always level up to gain something, wether it be stock, life, and or skills to use.
The story line of the game is a typical zombie story line, but Capcom does something to the game to make it more interesting, something that you guys should play to find out.
During the game you will find out, there are little bosses here and there. They are called Psychopaths, they are special ways to kill them and they have some cool movie clips before and after the killing of the psychopaths.
Achievements in Dead Rising is are my personal favorite, it makes the game more fun. What more fun dressing up zombies to get an achievement? Or jumping of a sky scraper, most of the achievements you get you will unlock some sort of good. Like if you kill 53,000 some odd zombie and get the achievement, you will get the original Mega-Man buster, it is definitely something to look at in the game while you are playing.
Something to look-forward to in the game is after you defeat 72-hour mode (and do everything completely correct and get true ending A) you still need to go on to something else OVERTIME MODE, where the swat team has taken over the whole mall trying to kill everything. It adds a little taste to the ending.
CONS
First and fore-most the save system is horrid to some people, but I just look at it Capcom made it this way because if some one could save anywhere and some one saved the game when there time was about to run out during a mission the game wouldn’t give you the same ending. So that’s something to look at (also cant forget you can save in bathrooms which are located all over the mall)
Another bad thing about this game, THE AI system for the victims you have to save. I absolutely hated it, but as I got to play the game I learned some techniques around it, You can aim your victim to go where ever you want and you can give them a weapon. So for the most part they should be ok, unless they get swarmed with zombies and they don’t accept weapons…
Otis constant calling during the game to save people, at first it is very annoying but it is nothing important to save people, you can to get some PP but… nothing to get all crazy about. Make sure you answer his phone calls to get the Psychopath missions they aren’t mandatory but I do think everyone should experience all the psychopaths in the game.
Last but not least, the text problems for the non-HDTV’ers. The text is to small for HDTV, Capcom has said that the game was made for HDTV, and they will not release a fix for the text, but a little light at the end of the tunnel for SDTV owners. All you have to do is hook it up to 480P and then make sure the XBOX360 is on widescreen and your problem should be fixed, I know my TV / TEXT problem was fixed on my SDTV.
GRADES:
Graphics – The faces are some of the most detailed faces I have ever seen 9
Sound – Nothing to special 7
Gameplay – 9
Overall (not averaging it in) 8.8
