Here's my theory, deathwish give me your input. I don't watch tv that much and just started console gaming again. I'm almost done with dead rising, atm i'm just leveling up so when I get my hd tv I can beat the game right. I can't read shit on sdtv, the text is all small and blurry.

This is what I would do. I would get a nice 40-50 incher, you can get a nice 720/1080i for 700-1000 bucks now. They don't cost that much as they use to. No media really supports up to 1080p yet, so just get a tv that can scale to 720p/1080i. All of the games on the 360/ps3 are just basically using the 720p resolution and so are the movies.

I'm still researching, but in 2009 or 2010 these tvs will be like 300-500 with 1080p. It's just like standard tvs, they use to cost a butt load. Now, you can get a 32 inch for a 100 bucks, dead technology. At first, I thought to myself come on is hd that worth it? When I saw the jags vs indy game last year. That's when I knew I wanted to go HD. I can tell hd for tv, you can see the audience so much better, instead of being fuzzy and shady. They're more detailed and crisp.

If the laser tv is true, I say get a 720, then upgrade in a few years!
