HL1 was released for PC back in 1998 i believe. it was considered groundbreaking at the time, but by modern standards the graphics are extremely primitive. HL1 is not included in orange box.


HL2 was released in 2004 i think. it is included in orange box. as you can see it is a bit more advanced than it's predecessor.


there is no half-life 3, though valve is releasing what essentially is half-life 3 in 3 chapters. so we have half-life 2 episode 1, half-life 2 episode 2, and eventually there will be a final episode 3. episodes 1 and 2 continue the story where half-life 2 left off, and are each about 5-6 hours long.

portal takes place within the half-life universe, but it is separate from the storyline of half-life 2, and is puzzle oriented.

team fortress 2 is a multiplayer only game which has absolutely nothing to do with half-life, except that it is made by the same developer.
