The next time we went to play, every time I tried to join from his game invite, I received the message "lost connection to host" (or something to that effect). I got the message before ever getting into the game.

After trying a handful of times, including restarting both machines, trying different chapters etc, I tried to host the game.

It worked straight away, no problems. The only differennce being that now he was playing as Dom and not me...

So the third time we went to play the campaign, neither of us could successfully host. The joining player always gets the message "lost connection from host" before ever getting into the game.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Here's some additional information:
- we're both on wired connections
- he has completed the game in single player mode
- I have not yet been through the game. So for example, when creating the coop game I only have the completed acts/chapters to continue from... he has the the whole set, but those we've completed together are highlighted white.
- We can host public coop games and other, random people can join.

Any ideas? It's Mega frustrating
well,

ive had that plenty of times, with COD3 and GOW.

I think its just down to unreliability.
If i was playing on PC and hosted my own game i would get a slap in the face and get told to F off.
As for xbox its the only way you can host games, so i personnaly would never expect it to be 100% reliable, unlike a dedicated server.

I havent played or researched much about live at all, coz i dont trust it much, but would ur router ports being open or not effect it in anyway?

i used to get this prob all the time on Live, so i just gave up
