it must be a long time since you played kotor then mate, a hell of a lot more freedom i think but at this stage id say the storyline behind the characters isn't as deep as it was for kotor. If you have played kotor and hated it then i would suggest you trade this back in because this is just like it, only better. a problem that i found with mass effect is that if you aren't really getting into a mission or assignment your on then it will just be a grind, a suggestion is that if you don't want to do an assignment don't do it, plain and simple and at the moment i think boring assignments are the worst things about mass effect.

I don't doubt this game will get better as you go however so i wouldn't worry about that.
