Lol the nail gun for sure... I remember I was using it and I was in a last stand sort of mode, I was trapped trying to save someone and I was blasting zombies in the head when my dad came in and was like "what are you doing? Your sick in the head." and walked out. Funniest gaming experience I ever had.

skateboard or car for me, i did love the shower curtain too. these were the only reasons i kept the game as long as i did, i hated it otherwise.

mines has got to be the syth weapon, 1 hit kills, gets you instant 100pp for each zombie kill, and looks awesome when you kill em, u get it stuck in their necks, then kick their bodies and it removes their heads, lovely stuff 
for effectiveness, i also like the steel pipes, nice n fast n gd knockdowns
