Great, I've got NBA as well! That said, I've got a pathetic amount of points from it because I've never really played it (not really my thing but it was a gift from a girlfriend that was trying bless her!).

All this has got me thinking though - why are people so divided over the whole Gamerscore thing? Maybe this isn't the thread for a big debate about it but for some people their Gamerscore has become the main reason for playing games and I just can't get my head around that. Don't get me wrong it's nice to have a record of what you've played and 'achieved' but I wouldn't buy a game just to boost my score.

Takes all sorts I suppose......

First off, sorry for the double post!

This is a great point and something that I think achievement points should be about.

I my opinion AP's shouldn't be handed out so easily but rather when you do something challenging and that you have to work for.

It may sound daft but getting all 1000 points from Hitman: Blood Money (which had a great mix of bloody hard and fun goals!)is something that I actually feel kind of proud of whereas I just feel slightly embarassed about getting them all from King Kong for basically just finishing the game!

Jesus christ! We all get the same 1000 points for beating the game. We all get the same 1000 pts for playing NBA 2K6. I am not embarassed because its part of the game! If you guys dont want to play the older games for the points then to damn bad for you because the rest of the world already played them 2 years ago. Whats embarassing is people talking about how pathetic it is to play the older games now because of the easy points. The games cost like $5 now so there is no reason for the babies with their low ass scores trying to talk big about how they never played those old games. The leader has like 250,000 gamerpoints. How bout everyone go and hit up that guys PM box with your stories.

No offence taken mate and I hope that my post didn't come across as having a go at you or anything.

My whole point is that although the easy achievements bug me a little I think the whole Gamerscore thing is an excellent system - just one that can be viewed as a little flawed.

That said though if were all playing games and enjoying them does it really matter?

I even know someone who made the finally decision to get a 360 over a PS3 because of the whole GP system (well Halo 3 might have helped as well!) so anything that is getting more people to play 360 is a great thing as far as I'm concerned!

Agreed, I enjoyed Hitman to much to not get 1000 for it, so I kept playing and developed strategies for hardest levels, best 1000 ever. I would like 1000 for Mass Effect, i know I can do it, but it's also a matter of me being bothered too lol

You know I still break into a cold sweat thinking about getting Silent Assassin on 'A Murder of Crows' on Pro difficulty - the neighbours were seriously banging on the wall at one point!

Yeah I hated that level, no doubt. But I got Silent Assassin for that on Pro
