Its a very good game now that I've finished. Good story towards the end. I wish they could have spiced it up in the middle and beginning though.
Now to get the flags.

Do I need to start the game from scratch to kill all the templars? I need to do the Lucy achievement anyways, but I would like to know while looking for the flags if I can also get the templar achievement.

At first, I said rent unless you could get it for $40 or less. Now, I say its a definite buy.
I would give it a rent though, like posted many times, its a love or hate game.

Good question. I did the templar thing the first time around, so I really don't know if you have to start again from scratch if you didn't get it. Anyone else know? I'm sure there are quite a few people who would like to know.

It's no more repetitive than most games in that you do similar things to accomplish the various assassinations throughout the game (I'm purposefully keeping this entirely general so as not to spoil it if you decide to get the game, so please forgive me if this is vague). Info gathering and such can be a bit repetetive and you NEED to do it in order to accomplish your goals, but it really isn't so bad. I actually loved it myself. If you're into deeper storylines this game completely excels, but if you're in it for prue action I could see how some parts could get a bit dragged down. That's not to say that there isn't action, there is a lot of it. But some areas of the game are story driven.
Yeah, climbing and leaping and all that is sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! Never played crackdown. so I can't comment there.

It's not like crackdown at all. Sure you can climb buildings, you not in a single leap.
To me, it got repetitive until I turned off every little bit of HUD. This made i very challenging. The story is good at the end, but towards the beginning and middle, its not enough to see past some of he repetitiveness.
