i'm sure if it ended up on two disks then M$ would find some way of putting a positive spin on it. two disks really isnt a big deal to me, its not like you would swap them all the time. i can see how it would be perceived tho.

So that leaves the main question, though... what would it take to convince you that the space of a DVD9 is a significant problem in games (for the ambitious companies like UBISOFT, Rockstar, etc...)?

nothing, i believe that every format has its limit and that DVD9 reaches its limit before BR, its a no brainer.

This is the one game i do not want ANOTHER delay with. (It was supposed to be out in August or something.)

I'm really looking forward to this.

If games could not be released at all due to this space limitaion, that would constitute a significant problem in my eyes. But it would be a problem with roots in the DVD9 limitations, not a failure for Ubisoft, Rockstar, et all. Like Swampy said before, if this was solved by putting a game on 2 discs, I personally would not be bothered by it. I'd rather have to switch discs than have too much content stripped out of the game in order to fit on 1 disc.

they'll just compress the sound/graphics more, they won't chuck it onto a second dvd OR they could have it where the sound comes on a 2nd disc and it loads onto your HDD (taking up around 1gb) then just streams from there, they'll get around it somehow.

Those sound like reasonable solutions, super_hoops. I'm also sure they will work it out, I hope it's not gonna be too monstrous a task for them.

They couldn't do anything that needed to use HDD space.

As they have to have core users in mind.

Yes, that's true. I don't see it as a big deal putting it on 2 discs at all. I don't see how that makes the 360 seem inferior. It just makes it seem like the disc's can't hold enough space.... which they can't. Everybody knows this.
