FREEDOM! Good or Bad?
Assassin's Creed (like Oblivion) offers basic "freedom" meaning you can do whatever you want, whenever you want. Some people might think this is a good function, and is good in the game. But in my case, I like a straight-forward story line that has you do everything right away. Anyone else feel this way?

If you like straight forward gameplay then do everything youre told ingame and pretend there are invisible walls everywhere youre not asked to go. but I personally love freedom in games, its obviously the reason GTA is amazing.
Youre offered the same story as you would be in a straight forward game, but you have an option to roam elsewhere and do things in different orders. If you do like straightforward games, though, just do things in the order the game sets it out for you and youre set to go. Youre not forced to do things after hours of free roaming, or at a completely random order. You can just do a mission as soon as you get it.
Its an amazing function, but you dont have to use it if you dont want to.

Never speak of this again. Linear games suck.
Free roaming for the win!

Lol, ya. But games where you choose what you do and when are fun.

Linear games dont necessarily suck, for example; Half-Life 2 is the best game Ive ever played in my entire life, and its completely linear.
But the choice you have in other games (AC, GTA, etc.) can make or break the game, most of the time free roam makes an amazing game.
So ya, for a game like AC - linear gameplay would be terrible. Free roam is really one of the major selling points for me, I cant wait to explore the huge cities

Freedom FTW. Exploring huge cities with massive detail, and being an assassin= Fantastic.

well its good
BUT, if the game is just TOO BIG (like oblivion was, i got bored real easy on that) then it just wrecks it
