To the people unsure about the ending.
Here is a detail explanation of the ending of Assassins Creed, also explains the weird writing on the wall, and possibilities of where the next AC is moving towards.

Great find! I was totally confused at the end!!
One thing though which hasn't been mention yet - any one think that the "apple" is alien technology??
That thing in Desmonds room on the wall looks like an alien and the actual "apple" at the end projecting the Earth with markers flashing - just a thought....

Excellent! Nice read. I just finished the game myself (will now tinker with it and try to find the rest of the flags and so forth). The ending left me intrigued, so this was a great thing to check out.

Now that I finished the game, I am stuck in the room what the hell do I do after that? there was no credits no nothing!!!!!

Thats it!
Desmond is basically waiting there for them to return.
You can now freely enter the Animus to go to the additional memories at the far right to try and collect all the flags etc.

To see the credits you must go back to desmonds room, and use the eagle view to look at the wall, at this point you should earn an achievement and the credits should start to roll.

Haven't beaten it yet (doing the 2nd kill for Memory Block 3 now). So I don't want to spoil anything for myself. Keep this bumped so I'll remember!
