Bioshock Rating: Now that you have the game

I threw up a 7. Would've been a 7.5 but thats not an option. Its a fun game but I dont think it comes close to a 10.

My only reasons for that is you only have a few different enemies. I mean very few. Even the mini bosses or whoever are just the same models but with different colors. The rest of the bad guys are all the same as the next, it was almost like playing a sega game. You remember games like streets of rage, where there is a total of three enemies you beat the crap out of the WHOLE game.

Another reason the score is lower for me is that the game is repetative. I feel like I am playing the same level over and over. Doing the same thing time after time. That sounds lame I know, because in just about every game thats all you do the whole game. Shooters, racers, yada yada. But there is something about this that just doesnt jump out at me. My last reason I know many of you will hate me for, its the plasmids. They should of stuck with the basics and just had you upgrade them into rediculous results.

Some of the plasmids are just retarded. I understood to a limit about the plasmids although originally didnt care for them. But after playing I sort of got the idea behind them from the "rapture scientist" point of view. Telekenisis, cool! Incinerate, alright, why not. Maybe a lot of smokers down there. Electricity underwater, ok, cant see a huge point behind it but cool none the less. . . . . Bees that shoot out of your arm? Um.. WHAT? WHY? Why would this be invented? What is the point of this? Why can I buy that and hacker upgrades? It just seems uber out of place. I dont know, a lot of you probably think its great, but it just helped ruin the gameplay for me.

But thats about it, figured I give a reason behind my score. Im not saying I hate it, dont think that. I love this game for what it is. Definately great but there are a lot of glaring issues for me.

based on the demo i give it a 9 since it actually has a story and looks amazing. i really want to pick this game up, but i am saving money for halo 3

I'd give it an 8. It felt pretty much the same throughout the game and it doesn't grab me enough or offer enough incentive to play through more than once after I beat it; at least not right away.

I gave it a 9 as it is one of the best games I have ever played. Every aspect of the game was nearly perfect. I seriously hope their is a Bioshock 2.

One of the main dissapointments for me was the length of the story line. No matter how you play the game it is short...
