Splicer types?
How many types are there? In the demo I saw the thuggish and leadhead splicers and in a video I saw the spider splicers. Try not too spoil too much as I intend to milk every ounce of goodness out of Bioshock when I get it.

As far as I know there are just those three. Thuggish; ones with melee weapons, Leadhead; those with guns and Spider; run on the ceiling with scary hooks!

There's Spider Splicer, Thug Splicer, Houdini Splicer, and Nitro Splicer.

Ha ha,to clear this up once and for all:
There are five types of splicers:
Thuggish Splicers - use melee weapons
Leadhead Splicers - use ranged weapons
Nitro Splicers - use explosives
Spider Splicers - use hooks to attack and can climb on the ceiling
Houdini Splicers - teleport around and use elemental blasts to attack
There are essentially two types of big daddies:
Bouncers - powerful melee opponenets with a drill for their right hand
Elite Bouncers - simply bouncers with more life and possible more damage output
Rosies - big daddies with rivet guns that toss proximity mines
Elite Rosies - simply rosies with more life and possibly more damage output.

im just at the arcade where you first see the Houdini Splicers, and got owned by the darn thing
