I just had to post this to save myself repeating this over and over again in every "Bioshock sucks" thread.

Basically I wanted to say that people complaining that Bioshock was over hyped have no idea. Until this game scored 10/10 in a magazine review over here, no one gave it a second look. It was hyped simply because of how good it was. Not through elaborate marketing campaigns or false promo **cough** Lost Planet **cough**

It makes me laugh when people say that Bioshock as a game sucks based on playing the demo.

You dont get it guys seriously, Bioshock isn't a game, its an experience. Its like playing through a movie. You only learn that as the story starts to unfold. I completed the game and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Its much more than a FPS if you play the game properly. Its really quirky with an amazing storyline. I'd even go as far as saying its the best Single player storyline since Resident Evil 1.

If you just want to run around and shoot things then there are plenty of games that will cater to your needs. But dont criticise something brilliant that you cant understand.

Hell I see modern art and it dont look all that to me, but I dont go and say it sucks because its probably brilliant. I'm just not in a place to understand and appreciate it yet.

Bioshock is like playing the lead role in a great movie [that I would love to see made]

Seriously guys, forget the demo. Buy this and live it.

yeah, we know. its a brilliant game. but even with brilliant games there will be people who dont like them. people have opinions, dont force your own onto them

I rented this game and I'm currently playing through it right now. It is an amazing game! not only are the graphics spectactular but the gameplay is innovative and fun as well. Personally I'm hooked! I'm thinking about buying it but I don't know how good the replay value would be on it...None the less it is an amazing game and definatly deserves 10/10.

I completely agree. If anything, it was underhyped and underrated until reviews started to pop up. Some people don't see that the things that make the game great (exploration, weapons, plasmids, storyline) simply aren't available in the demo which predictably is gonna cause people to dislike the demo.

If you wanna rant about this game and say you don't like it then thats fair enough but at least try the game out first.

Once you've completed it, you'll most likely want to try it on hard. Usually I won't replay a game once I know how the story ends but the respawn system is perfect for the casual gamer and so playing it on hard is just awesome fun.

Yeah Martino everyone rants about it but didn't play the full game yet. Some people just base there judgments on demos.

its boring, simple and very very short!

the graphics and gameplay are short but the above have really disappointed me, i really couldnt wait to get this game too

and yes i DO have the full game

I have played it all the way through 3 times now and have to admit that initially I would have given it a 9/10 as it was fantastic to behold but there was just something about it that didn't quite gel with me.
On second play through it was a 10/10 as I thoroughly enjoyed the use of the plasmids more as I had learnt how to experiment and use my enviroment more.
Now on 3rd playthrough I give it a 9/10 again as I find the longevity suffering a lot as I am experimented all that I can and seen most of what there is to see....

I wasn't trying to force opinions on people, just influence their judgement. I mean if simply saying "Something Sucks!" isn't forcing opinions I dont know what is. Until you find out they have only played the demo!
