Get BioShock. Its just a great game all around.
Also, go get the Orange Box and play single player on all the Half-Life games. You'll like it.

I meant that you quoted the line about the Little Sisters with your decision, so I assumed that had something to do with your decision.
Here's a warning, though: There are a lot of great games that don't have online multiplayer, and you will miss out on many awesome experiences with this as your sole criteria.

They're called Little Sisters? Well how young are these girls? I never thought to ask... if they are 18+ then yeah I want to be able to do stuff with them
I have the Orange Box but I haven't gotten through the single player.. been addicted to TF2. I finally came to appreciate the lack of grenades in TF2, even though I loved them in TFC. There is more teamwork in TF2 than in TFC.
What other great games don't have online multiplayer, and are they FPSs? Cause I do play a lot of non-online games which are not FPS, like NCAA Football or Grand Theft Auto... but for FPS, I tend to want to square off with other people.

Great games without online multiplayer:
1. Ninja Gaiden (Black)
2. Dead Rising
3. Oblivion
4. Bioshock, obviously
5. Psychonauts
There are many others, but you get the idea. Bioshock isn't the typical FPS, but playing against other people would be fun (although there are a ton of gameplay balancing issues that would need to be addressed).
And yes, they are called Little Sisters; they appear to be 6-8 yrs old.

I have heard that Bioshock is too short. 22 hours of gaming and you are finished.

I don't know about you, but I'd take 22 hours of great gameplay over 50+ hours of a crap game anyday!
