I wouldn't keep playing online unless there was achievements. Its pointless.

Achievements are pointless in general as you cannot do anything with them.
I thought the beauty of online games was the fun of actually playing the game against real players and friends. I didn't realize that people did it for arbitrary points and their e-reputation.
Personally, I'm a fan of no points for online achievements as I don't often play my games online. But then again, points are meaningless and I just don't care in the end. For example, I could get a few more points in Forza2 by doing auctions and online races...but I don't want too, so I'm going to just sit at 830 useless points, rather than 925 or 1000.
