CoD4 wins by a mile.
I know its an opinion but i dont know how you can say halo 3's campaign is better. a boring pointless story that jumps around as it pleases with all lvls consisting of run down this corridor and shoot this, isnt great in my eyes. The only thing that made me like halo's campaign was playing it with 3 mates.
If CoD4 had that it would be even better but even as single player only its campaign is just pure brilliance.

i am getting my own 360 and COD4 for christmas, but i have played halo3. and i have to say that i HATE halo.
halo is THE ONLY game that pisses me off to the point that i cuss franticaly out loud and just turn it off. i havent played COD4 but i have heard GREAT things. Halo3 is a pretty good game, but the people are very ignorant online. and it is a very negative gaming experiance in all.

I absolutely love Halo for awesome piss about sessions on Forge, but other than that, nothing else it really that special.
CoD4 on the other hand... Almost all of the game types are brilliant, all of the maps are excellent (Not Countdown though, Countdown smells of poo) and the Campaign is shweet...
CoD4 > Halo

To be PERFECTLY honest, i haven't finished the whole CoD4 campaign because I played bits of it on my friends ps3 and started playing it on Veteran when i first got it 
But IMO Halos campaign is a 10/10, it had a very good backing story, the graphics were good and I enjoyed finishing the campaign with my friends and since CoD4 doesnt offer that...
And also, referring to someone who said that halo3s campaign was "run in a corridor and shoot everything", seems to me like you can generalize any shooter this way but your entitled to your opinion

Why do people always post threads like this. "Halo 3 vs cod4 who will win omgerz" And CoD4 fanboys will go "liek omgerz cod4 bigg timee liek halo liek sucks" It's is annoying.
