Depending on the DPI of a mouse, technically they are almost identical in terms of "precision". They are less "intuitive" because it is harder to play with precision. Saying you can't hit an enemy with a Microsoft Intellimouse, you need a Razr would be a difference "precision". Joystick vs Mouse is a difference in intuitiveness.
