I would post this in the general cod4 discussion but its gone lol. Anyway its not just cod4 that does it, pretty much every shooter I know does it.

So you have a gun with 100 bullets, 10 bullets per magazine. Say you run into and someone shoot em 3 times to kill em. You then go to cover and re-load. You take out your magazine which still has 7 bullets in and throw it away. You then put a new magazine in and have 97 bullets when you should have 90! Do you follow?

What do you think about this? Do you like this? Although it may be "less realistic" I think it is much better doing it like this...

I see your point, but maybe you don't actually throw it away you put it in your mag pouch. Though that still doesnt explain how two mags with 5 rounds in them magically fuse together and become one. Maybe you have a little invisible helper who sorts your mags out while you're busy kicking ass?

vegas 1 and 2 do it the realistic way but those games are boring. I prefere it the COD4 way because i dont care that the games arnt 100% realistic. Its all about the fun factor.

Sayign that it wouldnt bother be to much if it was done the other way. I would just have to remember to stop reloading after each kill thats all

that would be gay... reload like 3 times no matter how many shots u make and u are out of ammo... too realistic is not good for video games sometimes

I never really played the game but if I recall Battlefield 1942 did the same thing. Too realistic in my opinion.

Its a video game. If it was that realistic you could only reload when the clip is empty, or loose whats left in there.

I come from a military background, having spent 8 years in the military.

In real life, you decide to reload, you keep that mag. with unspent rounds and place it inside your LBV (Load Bearing Vest). You never waste ammo.
