Whats the big deal with the silencer?
Can someone tell me what the big deal is with silencers on weapons? I know it affects the enemy seeing you on the radar somehow, but I really think I would attach a nice red dot sight than have that.

to each his own. i personally use silenced guns more often. i am more of a stealth player. when i am sneaking up on a bunch of enemies, i like the element of surprise. and i dont want my red dot to pop up on screen so that i can continue to kill enemies without the whole team knowing where i am.

Yea I guess so, but stealth seems kinda worthless in this game. Theres no cover and it may seem stealthy because its Modern Warfare, but unlesss your on Pipeline, its usually all run and gun
gameplay.
Guess its a matter of opinion I guess.

Try playing S&D without a silencer and you'll see why.
If you mean for TDM/Ground War then as well as not showing up when you fire, it makes SMG's more accurate.

I would use silencer except they make your weapon weak or reduce the fire rate or w/e. You'd be surprised how useful silencers are. Most of the times the enemy doesn't even realize you are behind even if their ally died right next to them. You can't hear the firing, a red dot doesn't show up on the screen, and you can just hit them from the back. They are useful for people who like to circle around and flank the enemy. Also in S&D they won't give away your position when you fire. Personally I don't bother with them, but I've used them and they have their uses.

I only ever play S&D and used to use the red dot, which was ok but as mentioned before as soon as you fire you're fucked, especially if you're the last guy on your team alive.
I never saw the use of the silencer, but after trying it out one day, haven't used red dot since.
Quite often now I can be the last one alive, with up to 4 on the other team to play against, and still win. Without the silencer this wouldn't be possible.

I wouldn't say that it's true to use a silencer in S&D. Whenever I play S&D, most people don't use silencers and I don't use it and I have great success playing it. In small maps silencers would work well, but not for larger maps because silencers reduce range and stuff. Plus it's easier to aim for longer distances with red dot scope.
