why would you use ACOGs on snipers lol, i never understood that.
Doesnt it reduce accuracy and range compared to the normal sniper scope?

It doesn't reduce that much range, but the accuracy at long range is hard to get used to it, but for close range targets that are moving its the bomb, it depends on what kind of sniper you are, a camping one, or one that moves around.

why would someone use the iron site over red dot you ask?
well i usually use the red dot since it gives you a cross-hair thing...
but sometimes i seriously LOVE to use the silencer like on an MP5 or P90 to get the challenges, so i don't show up on radar when i shoot...i mean the only bad iron sites are the ones that when you zoom, there is part of the iron blocking your view. for example the AK-47's iron site is good because it is open on the top. the P90 is harder because its a closed circle at the tip...

dude i totally agree...i use the default sniper cross-hair because it zooms further than ACOG and btw ACOG just gives a ^ looking cross-hair so its harder to get head-shots and stuff. personally i have never used or liked ACOG on any gun.

ACOG for me is good on the m16, m4, m249 saw, m60, skorpion, mp5, and p90. somewhat useless on other guns because the recoil and muzzle flash sends it everywhere.

I really really like ACOG scopes... Especially the M16+ACOG, thats my fave!
ACOG skorpian is funny too, it just looks odd when your holding it in your hand.
I find the ACOG on snipers make the gun more manouverable, and making it easier in closer combat, but it renders the gun useless for across map fights!
i prefere the iron sights of the MP5 and both the AK's to the red dots on them though!

I'm kinda both, i run around sometimes and camp sometimes (only when sniping ) but either way i can't stand the ACOG

CoD2 taught me never to rely on anything on a gun. My guns are just the bare bones no add-on's and no camo. But I do still do put add-on's. Most useful IMO are silencers. RDS for me are only used for guns that have horrible (not bad cuz I can still handle bad iron sights) iron sights like the M14 and the M60E4. Also the reason why I think people don't like the acog is that it shrinks the picture you're looking at as a whole compared to the RDS and Iron Sights where you can see more in you're field of vision but with acog you'll get better sight distance (whatever it's called).
