See, I find this superficial happiness thing ultimately disturbing. It's just not quite right from my point of view. But I can see why other people might idealize a world like that.

I'm going to give that book a read. I appreciate the recommendation.

That's why I think you'll love it. It's actually a dystopia, it is a sort of parody, a "what if" book.

What if Ford's super consumerism become everything?

That's what Brave New World is based on, consuming.

Perhaps Jamie you are simply worrying too much and paying too much attention to details. We all know the old cliche statement of giving sugar pills to a sick patient and they feel better right? People around my age who drink soda do not bother with the nutrition facts (no one in their teen years do really) and consume whatever they want and most turn out fine. I know that just everyone in my school drinks soda at least once a month and whenever I'm around them when they drink soda, I see absolutely no difference in their behavior. They are either used to it, or their ignorance causes them to be not affected. If you bring a problem out, then there will be problems.

No, but 011191 and Jamie went on about how there's chemicals in everything and nothing processed is safe to eat, and I just felt like joining in cuz most of the products they were talking about I eat/drink.

Who gives a fuck? Everything we eat is processed unless its like a raw vegetable and even then they've got pesticides and stuff on them unless you grow them on your own...get over it.
