I don't even have an mp3 player so if there is a touch screen ipod that would be awesome to get if it is cheap enough which I doubt.

I'd be concerned that screen scratches would impact the touch screen performance.

I wouldn't buy it, likely because
--apple is too trendy
--apple is too pricey
--other players have better sound quality
--other players have more features
--other players don't require iTunes
My wife has a 30GB iPOD too. So I have plenty of basis for my comments above.

Too trendy?
I understand all the other complaints, but not getting something because it's popular is just as bad an not getting something because it isn't popular. It would be nice if there were more features though, such as a radio.

By trendy I refer to the people who flock to the stores to buy an iPOD because they think it's the best without even looking at what any other company has to offer. People equate the name mp3 player with an iPOD. It's sad and pathetic.

i agree with pparks. a touch screen would be disasterous. also that pic could have easily been photoshoped

I'd be very nervous too if it weren't for the iPhone screen, which seems to be holding up pretty good so far. If a new one does come out I'll wait just to be sure that the screen is decent just in case they do screw it up.
