Do you really think it's going to come to fruition? Of course it won't. If anything it's another attempt to put fear into those who download, and another attempt to seize more control and push us further into the nanny state we have already become.

If you follow some of the other links on TorrentFreak there's articles regarding TV shows being downloaded by torrent, too, and the fact some in the industry itself are embracing it. While I watch the likes of Terminator SCC, Lost, Prison Break etc, the UK doesn't get Survivor which is a show I also watch, ergo my only option is to download it. Although I can accept that shows themselves aren't the same as downloading movies or music, you don't have to pay to watch them, loosely speaking anyway and not in the same sense as going to the cinema.

There are 6 million estimated illegal downloaders in the UK. How about they devote more time and resources into detaining rapists, child killers, paedophiles etc rather than the average guy watching Lost ffs.

This wont work. Its one of them things raised up, and it will die a natural death very shortly IMO.

Either that or the fucking UK government make us pay even more tax to go to reserach and devlopment for this shit.

What about all the newsgroups? They can't stop the alt.binaries groups. Most of the P2P/torrent stuff originates from the newsgroups anyway.
