The *Official* Get Fit/Exercise Thread

So, there's been a lot of talk about exercising and fitness lately and it's kind of been in random threads. I could be to blame since we get to talking about my weight loss all over the place. Figured it'd be nice to have an official thread for people to talk about experience and/or tips to getting in shape.

I've lost all this weight recently but haven't been doing much weights. Gonna start back with my trainer probably next week though to get tone. Any tips on what to do on my own? Or how long it may take to get rid of the softness I have left?

Its not an Official said until I say it is....

I started working too, bout a month ago I got a gym membership and I got work out for an hour during lunch. So far I havent lost mush weight but my energy level is way up. When I started I could barely to the elliptical for 10 mins, now I can go 25m mins +. I just need to change my eating habits.

Ok, its now official.

So basically, just burn more calories than you take in and you will lose weight. It is hard for me to stay away from carbs like in white rice and pastas. I am also trying to stay away from white bread. I actually don't take in many calories per day. I only eat snacks during the day and then dinner

Don't worry about the carbs. I eat rice at almost every meal. Just make it either steamed rice or wild rice. The only thing I stopped eating was sweets and I cut back on alcohol a bit. Other than that 4 or 5 snack sized meals a day was perfect for my metabolism. You could be different though. But, yeah, if you burn more calories then you take in you're gonna lose weight.

Can any one here give me any suggestions for mid-day snacks that are high in calories, carbs & protein. But low in fat?

I have never eaten mid day before. But i have found that as i am doing 4 workouts a week I feel that i am not getting my 3000+ calories a day.

I had 6 eggs for lunch & i am still hungry.

I don't want to resort to supplements when i can just eat normal food.
Also i would have to eat it at work, so preferably something i wouldn't have to cook.

Diesel, no clue sorry bro. For my mid-day I stick to granola and fruit. Probably not what you're looking for. Damn, 6 eggs?!?1 Jesus, that's intense.

No worries. Yeah that was just part of my lunch.
With weights you tend to need a lot more of this kind of stuff.

It works too. My biceps have grown over half an inch in 3 & half weeks.
So i will be where i want soon enough.

I am on a 1 year workout plan.
I started on the 1st of march.
