Game Limit is Crap

Ok, so this happened to me 3 times today and it is getting annoying. I just picked up the game 2 days ago and got the Win a Economic and Domination victory achievements. So, I want the cultural one now. So, at the end of the game I get the last wonder and it says I can build the UN. But then a message popped up on the screen saying "There is only 5 more turns in the game, whoever has the highest score wins a domination victory." So I quickly turn a city into production and start making the UN. The UN takes 6 turns...

This has happened 3 times. The latest game I tried to make a production based city for it later in the game...but that just slowed down me getting the wonders and culture...so the UN only took 5 turns...but the game was over as soon as I got all the wonders/people.

The game limit needs to be removed in the next patch...or at least make an option in the settings to turn it off. It is extremely aggravating...I wasted about 7 hours of my time to try and get a culture victory and the dumb game limit keeps popping up.

Also, please dont respond to this thread going "Well, you should be quicker". No...there is no reason for a limit. This game is dumbed down enough from Civ IV, and the gametime cut like 4 times down...so no reason for a limit too!

Haha, did you make this exact same post in the 2k forums? I saw it there. Anyway, I think the limit is there because there isn't any more technology to research, no more new units. Being in the year 2500 with bombers would be strange.

Haha, ya I did...but the mods closed it and PMed me to "stop complaining". I lol'ed.

But still, no other Civ game had a limit...limits are annoying.

A couple of the senarois have no limit, Alpha Centuri I bleieve doesnt. But you should alwasys have enough time for culture victorys. Just Plan what you want to win as before you start and make an effort to do it.

I know, I just got it with the Game of the Week. It is just annoying when you want to sit down and have a long game...like in Civ IV.

yup when i played this at my friends it lasted like 3 hours.... i know theres achievements etc but i thought it would go into like a hover cars and things

i think there should be no time limits with the game or have the option when you play

Well...every civilization game I've played has had a turn limit. Yes they are usually longer, but saying "they haven't ever had a limit" is just not true.
