Whereas DVDSanta does the one job, no bells and whistles, and no 300MB installer with crap you don't need.
That was enough for me to never use Nero again. I'd had compatibility issues with it before. And why bother when I can use Express Burn and it handles all my CD, DVD, Bluray (if I had it), HD-DVD (if I had it) and any other format for free? It just doesn't decode the vid files, which is where DVDSanta comes in.

I've had no problems with Nero 7.8 in Vista Ultimate on my G1.

Ugh. All these free apps but, nothing that's gonna work for me?? This sucks!!
Bopper, deepburner does it but, not the free copy.

My computer is suffering some SERIOUS lag issues... everyhting is taking 5 minutes to open (literally, I went and had a cigarette while waiting for FireFox to open) I am running a Adware scan right now, then I'm gonna run McAffee after that. Any other suggestions as to what could be causeing it. It's to the point where I don't wat to even turn it on because everything takes so damn long. This all started all of a sudden as well, just about 3 hours ago.

Thanks but all jokes/suggestions about virus scanners aside, what else could it be. I haven't done anything to it, this just started out of nowhere.

I'd recommend what you're doing now; virus and other malware scans. If you can, run a boot time scan or scan your HDD as a slave in another PC.
Then I'd recommend a disk defrag and run Ccleaner, could be registry errors causing the slow down.
Then turn of any services, processes and start up items you don't need.

^^ Thanks.. I just ran a registry cleaner about 2 weeks ago, and like I said, I haven't done much in the meantime, so I don't think that could be it... who knows. I will run McAffee, then the Defrag, then RegMech if it doesn't fix it. I just checked my processes, and there are 55 running right now, does that sound about normal?

With out yanking your chain, reinstalling Windows is your best bet. You can do this and that to get some performace back, but a clean install will run like new!

Yup, 55 isn't anything out of the ordinary. Is there anything you can think of that could of caused it? Installed/uninstalled anything lately?
Edit: If you don't mind losing your programs (you can back up all your files,) then I agree with Bennie, new Windows installs really are quite nice.

Nope... not in the last, say, month at least. The last program was a simple Script writing program, and it's ran fine since then.. up until today. I'd hate to have delete everythin, but that may be my best option i guess
All that porn.....
