Well, as long as you didn't "Shift+Del," it should be in the Recycle Bin.
Edit: ROFL!!

I wanted to ask some advice on backups, so here goes. I currently have two PC's and laptop on my network, each of which has documents/photos/music etc. backed up onto DVD's. This is, obviously, by no means ideal and I'm looking for an easier way to perform backups.
My first idea was to purchase some form on NAS and an app such as Genie Backup Manager then set it up to perform incremental backups. I could, of course, use this to store normal (for want of a better word,) files as well as backups. However; I'm worried that this could get expensive. Another problem could be that I'm using 14Mbps "Powerline," ethernet adapters-I'm told 100Mbps fast ethernet isn't ideal for this type of data transfer, so this could be wholly unsuited.
My second was to buy three HDD's and, every few months, use HDclone to make a backup disk for each machine. I'm worried that this would be impractical to do on a regular basis, so this way seems less secure.
Which would be more suitable? There's nothing really important on any of the machines, but any data loss is a PITA.

^ Yeah, I've worked it all out now. It's a good new addition IMO.

Not really, 100/100 is perfect, 10/10 just means the game is a must by for everyone.

i'd get an external hard drive. Then an application like Karen's Replicator ( http://www.karenware.com/powertools/ptreplicator.asp) which is free.
Keep all of your files organized together in just a few folders and use the replicator software to make backup copies. This is very fast as it only copies files that are changed. You could even run a scheduled job to update every day.
Of course, for real data protection, you might want to get 2 external drives and keep one in another location (in case of theft or fire).

Pretenting to be Shoe: You should get a Mac, they are much better and don't have these problems.

Why o why is networking so hard?
Does it need to be so fussy and complex?
Does wi-fi need to be so shit?
Does restarting a router have to make it not connect to the internet again for hours?
