Dude what are you expecting? That vid card is old and Crysis is a challenge even for recent configs, it wont get much better no matter how you "optimize" - whatever Lethal means by that*.
Your old X850 won't magically become stronger by flicking a switch or two. Accept it.

Not like you're missing out on a lot, crysis is crap anyway apart from the graphics.

There's not much to do other than updating drivers and tweaking settings

Yeah. Even my SLI setup with the latest flagship cards can't max this game out. Your card was lower-midrange back in the day it was released... Now its just a piece of shit.

I can run Battlefield 2 on everything high (except for anti-aliasing which I never turn on for any game) and same with medieval 2 total war(no anti-aliasing also) and I should be able to run bioshock at good settings so my card is as shitty as you think. You think just because my card isn't some $500 video card that it's utter shit? I can run older games extremely high and newer games should be on medium-high.

And once again, my friend's 7600gs can run crysis on medium and it doesn't look as bad as mine on medium. And Lethal I know you aren't lying because there are ways to modify things to get a better performance (I saw this one trick to get very high settings unlocked on Direct x 9 and yet there isn't much performance sacrific when you run it). But could you give me another link to a forum where I can download something that'll at least make my crysis visuals look like a 7600gs running it on medium?

You can run BF2 on max yeah because it's an old game. I didn't say your card was shit it's just old. Stop overreacting everything i'm trying to help you here. I have respect for ATi and the x800 series. They were awesome back in the day but they just don't cut it with Crysis it eats more juice than any other game out there including SupCom.

How much did you pay for it, just out of curiousity?

Btw, you should seriously consider overclocking. I used to have an X800GTO AGP at one point and it handled pretty good extra clocks, so i think you can get another 50-100-150 Mhz out of the core and at leat 100(effective 200) out of the memory with teh X850 on stock cooling if your case is well ventillated.

What manufacturer is it? Sapphire? Because then you have an IceQ cooler on it, those were the cadillacs of cooling in their time.

Yes it's a sapphire. The fan on it is huge and it can sound like a jet engine. So then how do I overclock it?

EDIT: I paid 60 bucks for it. I think I know why Crysis looks bad, my Vertex Shader Ver. = 2.0 and my
Pixel Shader Ver. = 2.0. New games require them to be 3.0. I think I know why Sheibler sold it to me so cheaply now...

Oh. For 120 bucks you could have gotten a 8600GT for example.

About your shaders, well yeah, thats what i meant by newer cards even if they are weaker, do have better technology the 850 just can't do.

As for overclocking, download ATi tool and just let it automaticly find you the best stable clocks. Don't mess with it manually if you're afraid you'll ruin something.

I didn't realize that you wanted t run CRYSIS!!!!!!!!!!

I don't even intend to run crysis on my home made rig!

Intel E2180 @ 3ghz
2gb DDR2 Ram
8800gt oc

My rig is much better then your friends and still doesn't do well in crysis. If you want to play a game similar to crysis, check out Farcry. Farcry is made by the same company and looks just as good as crysis in medium IMO. The X850XT should be able to run most games and do it well except for new titles like crysis. You can't expect to tun a brand new game on a pc with a $60 gfx card that even a $200 card strugles with

But it you still want to run crysis like shit....like your friend does....sell the card to someonme for $50-60 and get a xfx 8600gt off of newegg for $90

He can run it on medium and it doesn't look that bad so I don't know why anything less than very high is shit. I just wanna play it on medium at a smooth frame and I'll be happy. I'm not setting unrealistic expectations or anything.
