Haha, welcome to one of the real reasons why Torrent was created! Linux distributions used to be the primary content on bittorrent until pirates worked out they could share movies and stuff as well!

Bish has hit the nail on the head with regards to the real only drawback to the application. If anything happened to your windows partition and your files were corrupted, it could be taking out the Ubuntu load at the same time.
Aside from that though, I think it runs fantastic and I've converted my work laptop to running this way. I'd say it 95% as fast as running on it's own partitions...as it would natively. But with far less hassle.
This is just a fantastic risk free way of really looking at Ubuntu and getting features like eye-candy and such to boot.

Nope, i was unable to get to desktop to even try to configure settings. Seems like a default driver problem, wierd thing is I can get onto desktop with the live cd.

^That's interesting that the Live cd works (8.04 is a live cd and you can run straight from the CD without installing anything), but it won't install.
I have a computer with a 7600GT in it at home. I will try installing using Wubi over the weekend on that computer and see if I experience the same problems. If I do, I will try to write a guide on how to do a text install and get the the driver working after the install.

So it doesn't grab the files from the CD? That's the pain!
Are you sure there wasn't an option there to use the CD at all?
