Ubuntu 8.04 under Wubi

Check it out, you can install the new version of Ubuntu using Windows and wubi and you get a dual boot style setup, without actually having to setup partitions. It's a safe way to try out Linux without taking any chances with your windows setup. I set it up this way today and it works great.

Papa parks, can you link me to the user-friendly version of Linux?

What is the different between the user-friendly one and the regular one?

Yeah, it's good stuff. no risk to windows, don't need a high end machine to run a virtual machine and you can set up the eye-candy features using this method. I'm very impressed. It's pretty cool

The version of Linux here is Ubuntu. There are a number of things in Ubuntu that make it more of a good choice distro for new users. This however doesn't mean that it isn't powerful or full featured. Linux is Linux and Ubuntu is linux. It's what I use on my laptop. More often than not, things just seem to work better out of the box with Ubuntu.

Ubuntu Home Page | Ubuntu. Keep in mind, version 8.04 just came out today...so their site is hammered and downloads are slow right now. It will take a few days for everybody to get their downloads completed and the speed to come back

It won't run better with 10GB..but will have more space to install some software. A typical Linux install takes about 2GB of space or so.

Yeah just one more question before I do this how will you be able to access it after you reboot. Is it like GRUB or is it in Windows somewhere.
