Must Have Software
so i am reformatting my pc (on XP) and was wondering what software you recommend, and what your preffered antivirus and firewalls.

so far i am goign to be installing:
  • Firefox
  • CCleaner
  • iTunes
  • uTorrent
  • Power ISO
  • Adobe CS3 (hopefully)
  • Winrar
  • MS Office
  • DivX
  • MSN or gaim

go pidgin (gaim) over MSN

and personal pref, you could go with GIMP instead of (probably a ripped copy of) Adobe Photoshop

For anti-virus/spyware, if you just arent stupid you shouldnt need it, but if you must visit loads of porn and warez sites, try using avg for virus, and then spybot for spyware.

What for? Lots of smaller, freebie apps that do a great job for most people. Paint.net and The Gimp are two great examples. No reason to steal them either...they are both provided free of charge.

i only use itunes because of my ipod, and there was a possibilty i would be a copy of photoshop through school (legally)
