Ok. So I bought this new laptop and most things are fine, but I keep getting this extremely frustrating glitch where the UI acts as though the left directional key is kept being pressed, causing all text being typed to appear backwards as it pulls the cursor backwards after each keystroke.

It also makes the UI unusable as it keeps messing up option menus and tabbed windows.

Only recently the same things has happened with a right like effect.

I know it isn't a keyboard malfunction as I ran the diagnostic test with the help of a dell techie on the phone AND I cant recreate the effect by holding in any keys. So I assume its a software fault. A friend of mine suggests a complete reformat but I don't have the skills to pull it off without major headaches.

Has anyone else had this happen to them and if so how did you remedy it?
