it wont slow your download but it makes you a pure leecher as you are not really helping with download speeds. (unless u have a private tracker in which case it will slow your downloads)
IMO you should just get a rapidshare account and use warez-bb.
I am sure its your upload thats causing the slow speeds tho.

It should do, because thats how torrents work, its all about sharing. If you limit your upload you get slower download. I just did a quick test to make sure im right, i limited my upload to 1kb/s and the fastest download i can get is 6kb/s.
EDIT: If it is the upload thats doing it a have no idea why... ive been uploading at around the same seed all the time and this problem has only started today.

i second or third limiting your upload speed. what is your max upload speed? even it you set it up at 35kb/s you could potentially still be taking a massive percentage of your bandwidth.

My max upload is about 70kb/s, i understand what you are saying but i have had these settings for ages now and have never had this problem.
I just limited my upload to 10kb/s and it is just as bad so i dont think this has anything to do with upload speed

It doesn't have anything to do with upload speed.
If your uploading your sending data, if your downloading your recieving data.
The torrents are flooding your download bandwidth.
The only way you can improve your browser speed is to either pause your torrents or set the max download speed in utorrent to around 40k/bs.
How may torrents are you pulling down at once?

35k Is REALLY fast for within the UK are you on cable?
Either way i come to the conclusion my ISP is throttling my when i make too many connections. So the speed would slowly drop i couldn't browse etc and then it would slowly disconnect me. Sooo i figured if i set my maximum peers/connections to 100 not unlimited it would be fine and not cut me off for a lot longer or at all.

I think programs like uTorrent offer the option of bandwidth encryption or something. Look around in the preferences/settings and see if there is an option for encryption.
If there is, try it out, I think it is slower than norma, but if your IP throttles your bandwidth, it will speed it up because your IP can't detect your activitiy or w/e becuase of the encryption.
It is worth a shot, worst that could happen is that you get the earth destroyed from an intergalactic missle. Nothing too serious though.
